You all know I love me some Ikea hacks. Here are some sweet legs you can add to your Ikea furniture. The company is located in Sweeden, but they have free shipping and returns worldwide ... I actually need to stay, very, very, very far away from that website. Otherwise, I'll be making more secret trips to Ikea when Mike's not around and finding space I don't have for more hacks. It's an addiction I tell ya.

Kind of a random question for you all - but a very important one: Are you receiving my responses to your comments left on the blog? I respond to almost every single comment left here, but I'm not sure you all are getting notified of my replies. If not, I might consider switching to a different commenting service, so please let me know! I looooove all of your comments and don't want you to think I don't value them - I do! It's probably one of my favorite parts about blogging, so I definitely don't want you all to think I'm ignoring you.
If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, you've already spotted this adorable onesie given to Eli from the Etsy shop, Cairtree. It's absolutely perfect for Valentine's Day and is super cute paired with anything red. She has lots of other sweet block-printed onesies, so if you're looking for a great gift idea, or just want to get your little one something cute - definitely check out her shop. As an added bonus, she's offering Oakland Avenue readers a 25 percent discount with the code oaklandavenue25 through Feb. 28, 2014 - which means you should go shopping. Now. (ps. This onesie would be so sweet as a new baby gift - particularly for twins!)

I'm always looking for that perfect nail polish and this nail polish comparison chart from The Small Things was a good look at some of the top brands and how they stack up to each other.

Mike and I tend to avoid the restaurants on Vday and instead spend time cooking at home together - if you're like us and looking for a menu for Valentine's, here's a good, interesting one that's a little different than the dishes I usually make. Always fun to try something new.

Finally, some fun news: As of this month, I'm a contributing writer for RookieMoms.com! If you don't know about Rookie Moms, it's an awesome website for moms - particularly first-time ones (Check out their ultimate registry list - it's totally down to earth and realistic - perfect if you're expecting.) and I'm thrilled to be joining their team. They have a sweet list of 52 weekly challenges to get mommas out of the house and on adventure, and Eli and I will be participating in some of the challenges while I document our experiences on their blog. I'd love it if you followed along and even tried some of the challenges out! Eli and I have already completed a couple - it has definitely been helpful in combating the feelings of loneliness I have as a new mom, as well as just getting me out of my comfort zone to try new things. If you get a chance, definitely check out all the new contributors too!

  1. I get your comment replies sometimes, but only if I subscribe to them when I leave my comment or if I remember to come back and look... that's why I'm a big fan of email-replying to comments on my blog. Then I know the commenter gets my reply.

  3. I am notified of other's comments via email - but I don't get your replies unless I check back. I remember you telling me one time that you generally respond, so now I try to remember to look later in the day!
