This Is How I Feel, VIII

When someone without children tells me that their unborn child would never cry when they're not supposed to.

When Eli gets on one of his monologues and just keeps getting louder and louder and LOUDER.

When we, along with five other parents, put Eli down at someone else's house and I'm trying to discern which cry is Eli's.

When there's a sale on formula. Yes, this happens right in the aisle - subtle yet celebratory.

When I'm holding a baby who's clearly been breastfed and is rooting around.

When I hear Eli wake up WAY early from a nap.

When Eli is attempting to sign to me and I can't figure out what it's supposed to mean:

When Eli fell off the bed.

When I overhear another mom offering unsolicited parenting advice:

When I hear another kid screaming and I feel for the parent - I really do - but I'm just so relieved it's not my kid.
When another mom is telling me about her mom-probz. I hear ya, I relate to ya, I feel ya.
Right after Eli has gone down for a nap and I'm still disillusioned into thinking I'll be getting in two full hours of alone time.

  1. I can totally relate to this. I do that dance in the aisle when I score an awesome deal too!

  2. I so relate to the nap ones!! How do they know when to wake up from a nap right when you're in the middle of something important?! They just know!
