Eli's New T-Shirt

Yep, that's right - Eli's about to become a big brother! Lil' Wif number two is due sometime around Christmas this year. Suffice it to say, the holidays will never be the same. If you're quick at math, I'm 13 weeks, and Eli and this new babe will be about 20 months apart.

While I got pregnant faster than expected, this baby is most definitely planned and Mike and I couldn't be more thrilled to add another babe to the family. (Hopefully with some equally awesome hair as his/her big brother!) Eli has no idea what's about to hit him and how he's about to be knocked off his throne, but we'll let him enjoy sole ownership of it for the next few months. His time will come soon enough.

If you've noticed my drop in posting over the past twoish months, this is the reason! Overall, I'm truly feeling good, and have definitely turned the corner over these past two weeks. It's been hard to write, not only because I'm just not that motivated to do anything, but also because I felt like I was keeping this huge secret from you all! Well no more - I'm super stoked to be able to write about pregnancy all over again - this time while chasing a toddler around - and what it's like to be a second time mom.

And total side note: these pics were taken on one of the windiest days ever a couple weeks ago when Eli's hair still sorta stuck up. If you've noticed on Instagram, it has pretty much all fallen down (at least most days, it still has a mind of it's own!) and we cut it yet again - this time in a way that works with hair that sticks flat to his head - so he's looking much more grown up these days - as a big-brother-to-be should!

ps. If you're curious about the awesome T-shirt Eli's sporting, it was a gift from 40 winks by J, a shop on Etsy that sells adorable kid's tees that are perfect for not only announcing a new babe, but anytime you want to celebrate a big or lil' brother or sister. Check out her sibling sets too!

  4. So happy for you!! Having them close is actually way more fun, I've found. Yes, there are days of insanity, but for the most part, Eli will just adore his little sibling and they'll always have each other as best friends.

  5. Oh my goodness! That's so exciting. Congratulations :) I can't wait to read your posts on pregnancy again - I'm currently 24 weeks along with my first, and when I discovered your blog you were such a refreshing voice to me. You were honest and down to earth about your struggles and joys, without propagating fear like so many other sites/blogs. Keep on doing what you're doing: I know you're inspiring me and you must be doing the same for many others!

  12. Congratulations!! So very exciting for your family! Mine are 18 months apart. The first few months were tough, but now they hold hands in the stroller and hug each other when they wake up in the morning. I LOVE having them close together.
