For now I just wanted to check in real quick to share the news, and thank you all for your thoughtful comments and encouragement about my labor and delivery experience. All your positive thoughts and prayers went a long way and I literally tear up when I think about how different - and better - this labor and delivery went than what I experienced with Eli.
I mean, look how big my grin is below, I don't think I smiled after Eli's birth for days - probably weeks actually. And, recovery? Yes, it's true, recovery really is better the second time around. I am sitting cross-legged the day after birth people. CROSS-LEGGED. And I EVEN TORE.
What? Yes. I know. It's amazing.
And for those of you who have asked, Eli has taken to Colette quite well. Maybe a little too well. He's all about sharing with her, to the point of nearly smoothering her with his stuffed animals, trucks and planes. He also likes to point out all her body parts while doing a little dance and giggling. But when he gets to her hair, he shouts, "Bear!"
In his defense, I have already told Mike a couple of times that Colette's hair feels as soft as a stuffed animal's. So I get it, Eli. I do.
All the deets to come. I can't wait to share, but for now I'm going to snuggle my little bundle and try to get a nap.
