£ 350 million twin skyscraper plan approved in Manchester

Manchester planners have approved planning for a two-tower residential project in the Great Jackson Street cluster.

The developer behind the £ 350 million project is Great Jackson Street Estates, is controlled by Salford-based investor Aubrey Weis.

Park Place, designed by architect Hodder + Partners, will offer over 1000 apartments in the 56-story towers.

Before the main construction work can begin, extensive preparatory work includes the laying of a main canal with a diameter of 2.6 m, which traverses the 1.4 hectare site. This work is expected to take around 15-18 months.

The residential towers will be built from a 7-story podium building with restaurants and shops on the ground floor

The building envelope will consist of brick-clad precast concrete pillars around a double-glazed aluminum window system.

The project team includes Civic Engineers as structural engineers and M&E consultant Clancy Advice and QA Edmond Shipway & Partners.
