Contracts value up in July, according to Glenigan data | news

Customers have around 6.1 billion in July.

The figures (see Building Boardroom) show that most of the work was awarded in the infrastructure sector, with companies here with contracts worth almost 1.2 billion.

The bulk of that, £ 445 million, came from three Department of Transportation contracts and six Network Rail contracts totaling £ 277 million.

After infrastructure, social housing was the second most important sector, with customers contracting out firms with £ 848 million in business.

It was followed by those in the utility and industrial sectors, each with around £ 738 million.

Meanwhile, the data also showed that £ 8.69 billion worth of projects were approved in July, up 26% from the June 6.95 billion approved in June.

The private housing sector was the highest project value market to be given the green light, with approval for 366 projects valued at nearly £ 2.55 billion.

After private residential construction, the commercial sector achieved the second highest approval value with just under 1.6 billion GBP, followed by industry with 1.35 billion GBP.

Overall, the builder who received building permits with the highest value was the Ministry of Health and Welfare. There were six programs totaling £ 450 million when given the go-ahead.
