I love making dishes that take very little time but are full of flavor. That’s exactly that recipe. If you like stuffed green peppers, you will love this dish. It’s basically stuffed peppers mixed with pasta and baked. It’s perfect to serve on a busy weekday evening as it’s easy to make and the leftovers heat up great.

Ingredients for the pasta casserole with filled pepper

Diced green peppers

Diced white onion

Ground beef or ground turkey

Rotini pasta

Diced tomatoes

Tomato sauce

Worcester sauce

Garlic powder

Italian seasoning


Grated cheddar cheese

Recipe Notes: This dish is very versatile because you can use ground turkey instead of ground beef. I use ground turkey a lot in this recipe and my family really enjoy it. I’m sure this recipe would be wonderful with minced pork or Italian sausage. My family loves cheddar cheese, but you can use whatever cheese flavor your family enjoys.

  • 2 cups diced green pepper
  • 1/2 Cup diced white onion
  • 1 lb of ground beef or turkey
  • 1 16 ounces of rotini pasta
  • 1 14.5 ounces Can of Diced Tomatoes
  • 1/3 Cup of tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Italian flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • Preheat oven to 350. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the box and drain. Fry the peppers and onions in a pan over medium heat until tender. Put the minced meat in the pan and fry through. Drain the fat from the meat mixture.

  • Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and spices and simmer for 5 minutes. Mix the pasta, meat mixture and a cup of cheese and place in a sprayed 9X13 baking dish. Scatter the rest of the cheese on top and bake for 15-20 minutes until it is warmed through and the cheese has melted.
