GMC Utilities Group has won a five-year contract from Gas Networks Ireland worth approximately £ 300 million.
Balfour Beatty and CLG Developments were the established contractors who had already signed a nine-year contract in 2012.
The employees of the Balfour Beatty CLG joint venture have moved to GMC, which has now started work on site.
Jim O’Gorman, GMC’s Head of Contract, said, “We are delighted to have won this five-year national contract to provide a range of services to Gas Networks Ireland.”
Balfour has confirmed its intention to withdraw from the Irish market and the gas and water sectors.
