The Southern Lady Cooks hot water cornbread

My niece made herself sick from that hot-water cornbread every time she ate it at my house. She loved it and so will you! This southern classic is always a hit! It’s a great addition to any meal. This corn bread is great served hot. But I also love it cold! Trust us, it is so good that no matter how much you make of this crunchy treat, you will run out of options.

Ingredients for hot water corn bread:

2 cups of self-rising cornmeal

1 teaspoon of salt

hot water, boiling

Oil for frying

Recipe Notes: This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. This cornbread can be kept for several days and is easy to warm up in the microwave. You can also freeze and reheat later.
