HS2 is preparing that the number of public complaints, which run at five a day, will skyrocket as construction accelerates.
The railroad said it received 500 construction complaints in the first quarter of this year, and its delivery director David Bennett admitted, “We will likely continue to see an increase in the volume of inquiries and complaints as construction activity increases.”
Typical complaints are noise and the swirling of dust and dirt at work.
Bennett told Independent Building Commissioner Mark Worthington that a single management system would be put in place for community engagement and complaint handling.
He added that it is improving vehicle washing at the on-site access points and using street sweepers when necessary to keep the streets clean.
