Heather joined McAlpine from Skanska almost five years ago, where he served as General Manager of the successful team in London and the South East.
A source said that Inquirer: “We suddenly got an email that he was leaving the shop, nothing else.”
He will be replaced by Alison Cox, McApines’ Executive Director of Engineering and Technical Services – the first woman in the company’s 150-year history to assume the position of Director of Engineering and Technical Services.
Prior to her appointment to the board in January, Cox was the project lead on McAlpine’s high-profile Battersea Power Station Phase 3A project.
A McAlpine spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Alison Cox will take responsibility for our London area with immediate effect. We have no further comment to make at this point. “
