Nutty Chocolate Bars - The Southern Lady Cooks

Make these nutty candy bars for any occasion! Super easy to do and they won’t last long. The recipe for nutty chocolate bars tastes like a chocolate bar. They’re wonderful when you want something sweet, and these nutty candy bars make a great after-school snack too. I like to grab one with coffee for an afternoon snack. This is a simple, delicious recipe. I made these with walnuts, but they taste like a hill bar when you use almonds. Try both. Check out our recipe for pecan pie bars.

Ingredients for nutty chocolate bars

Graham breadcrumbs

butter

Sweetened condensed milk

Desiccated coconut or shredded coconut

Chocolate chips

Chopped nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts)

Only six simple ingredients, but great in taste. You can make these in about 30 minutes. They’re great to take with you to any gathering, and you can easily double the ingredients for more. If you like these bars, you will love these Caramel Pecan Bars!

These nutty candy bars are easy to make and delicious!

  • 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 Butter stick or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup melted
  • 1 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups Desiccated coconut or shredded coconut
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips
  • 1 Cup Chopped nuts (Almonds, pecans or walnuts)
  • Place graham crackers in a sandwich bag and mash with a rolling pin until you have 2 cups of crumbs. Mix the crumbs well with the melted butter. Spray an 8 x 8 baking dish with cooking spray and pat the crumb mixture to the bottom of the pan. Bake this in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Mix the milk with the coconut in a bowl with a spoon. Spread on the graham cracker crust and return to the 350-degree oven for another 15 minutes. Remove and sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Return to the 350-degree oven for another 5 minutes, or just until the chocolate chips are warm enough to spread with a knife. Let cool in the fridge. Cut into small squares. Makes about 30 pieces, depending on the size you cut the bars
