My family loves this allspice cheese tomato cake.
Tomato pies are huge in my family. They’re so easy to make and deliver so much flavor. Our allspice, cheese and tomato cake takes it to another level. In summer I like to use our fresh garden tomatoes for this recipe. I have served this particular dish for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. It always gets compliments. I’ve given this recipe out many times.
Ingredients required for allspice, cheese and tomato cake:
1 9 inch pie crust
Medium tomatoes, sliced
Grated hot cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Recipe Notes: If you don’t have fresh basil and parsley, you can always use dried herbs. Just cut the amount in half. If you like this recipe, you may also want to try our traditional southern tomato cake. It has fantastic reviews.

Allspice, cheese and tomato pie
This particular tomato cake is a family favorite. It’s full of flavor and easy to make!
Servings: 6th Servings
- 1 9 inch Cake crust
- 3 medium-sized tomatoes cut
- 1 1/2 cups grated hot cheddar cheese
- 1/2 Cup of mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoon of diced allspice
- 1 teaspoon freshly chopped basil
- 1 teaspoon freshly chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- salt and pepper
Place the sliced tomatoes on a baking pan for 10 minutes to allow them to dry a little. Blot with a paper towel to remove any excess juice.
Bake the empty pie crust for 10 minutes. Take care and poke holes in the bottom of the cake bowl.
Mix the mayonnaise, cheese, allspice and smoked paprika. Add a layer of tomatoes to the bottom of the pie bowl. Mix the basil, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper. Sprinkle some of the spice mixture over the tomatoes. Spread a layer of allspice and cheese mixture over the tomatoes. Keep layering until the ingredients are gone. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes until done.
