Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is key to turning your real estate website into a powerful lead generation system for your business. However, for many of us, the idea of implementing all of the SEO practices required to have a strong website presence is incredibly daunting.
Although it does to appear complex – in reality it doesn’t have to be. So, if you want to optimize your website and generate more traffic (which will ultimately lead to more leads), here are two simple concepts to focus on.
1. Focus on the content of your website
The first piece of the puzzle is your website itself. What content is on your website? What is it that drives people there? And once there, what will your experience be like?
In order to build a strong online presence, you need to create content for your website that worth to the visitor. Writing blog posts and creating neighborhood guides, subdivision profiles, or FAQ pages that answer frequently asked questions are all ways to create your content.
Now if these people are on your website, where are they going? The ultimate goal is to generate leads through your website. This is why you want to think about how you can direct your website visitors to lead capture forms that are relevant to them.
For example, if they landed on a post about moving to your area, the next step is to offer them a downloadable resource in exchange for their email address and phone number.
2. Find out how you can get visitors there
The second part of SEO is thinking about how people are going to do it Find your website. Before your website gains strength in the eyes of search engines, this part of the process takes quite a bit of work.
You want to use things like social media, email campaigns, paid ads, directory pages, and forums to drive people to your website. My best tip for success here is to focus on promoting pages on your website that are specifically created for the group of people you are talking to, rather than just pushing people to your homepage.
As those pages get more clicks and engagements from various sources, search engines will notice – and your website’s SEO strength will grow.
