These sausage cheese cookies are so good! They are a little different than adding a biscuit with a bratwurst and a slice of cheese to the batter. I love her! Seriously, my family can’t get enough of this. They are delicious with a hot cup of coffee in the morning. I strongly recommend serving them coated with honey and butter. You can easily double or triple this recipe.
Ingredients required for sausage and cheese biscuits:
butter or margarine
Grated cheese (I used spicy cheddar)
Buttermilk (can use regular milk)
Recipe Notes: I usually brush the cookies with melted butter before baking. These cookies are very versatile as you can add any seasonings or herbs that your family will enjoy. These biscuits are easy to freeze and can also be reheated in the microwave. They make a wonderful take away breakfast.

- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Stick butter or margarine cut into small pieces or grated (8 tablespoons)
- 1 lb Pork sausage cooked, drained and crumbled

Boil the sausage, drain it and let it cool. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl with a whisk. Cut into the butter until it is crumbly. Stir in the chilled sausage and cheese.
Add milk until the batter forms a ball without being sticky. Knead and roll out on a floured surface. Cut out about 1/2 inch thick with a cookie cutter or drop on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes until they are ready. Makes about 16 biscuits, depending on size. Enjoy!
