Scape £ 14 Billion Framework Winners Announced | news

Seven contractors have won seats in Scape’s £ 14bn framework for major projects.

Kier, Morgan Sindall, Graham, Willmott Dixon, McLaughlin & Harvey, John Sisk & Son and Mace have been appointed to deliver up to £ 12 billion worth of work in the framework for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Mace secured the highest value property, covering projects valued at more than £ 75 million.

Willmott Dixon and Kier are the only companies of the existing version of the framework to be included in the new iteration, with neither Robertson, Wates nor Lendlease surviving the transition.

Meanwhile, Morgan Sindall, Kier and McLaughlin & Harvey won places within the organization’s £ 2bn Scottish framework.

The four-year framework, which is available to all public institutions, will be used between 2021 and 2025 on new construction and renovation projects of all values.

> Explainer: Scape bosses about changes under the new frameworks

The frames were designed to closely follow the Construction Playbook and focus on responding to climate protection through the built environment.

Scape said customers would benefit from the framework’s parallel lottery structure, which offers a choice of delivery partners at different project values while maintaining the free early engagement and direct award option.

Customers can also use Scape’s new life cycle contract form, which enables both retrofits and new builds, and helps companies save energy and keep their systems operational and efficient for up to five years beyond the construction phase.

The new feature, which is part of the framework’s “Net Zero Ready” offering, will help create and validate a customer’s business case for low-carbon buildings and close the historical performance gap between design and usage performance of facilities.
