A tender is now online that will trigger the competition for the main contractor for the next section of the A9.
Transport Minister Graeme Dey said: “Creating employment and training opportunities that will benefit the people and communities around this project is an important focus for this significant investment in Scotland’s infrastructure to make improvements that will make the area economic, social and environmental Bring welfare.
“This new construction contract will help realize our shared vision for Scotland – a sustainable, inclusive, safe and accessible transport system that will help make communities, businesses and visitors a healthier, fairer and more prosperous Scotland.
“In addition, new efforts to reduce CO2 in construction are presented and employment opportunities are revitalized through a wide range of qualification and training initiatives as well as educational commitment throughout the construction phase.”
Transport Scotland expects the contract for the third section of the A9 Dualling to be awarded in the second half of 2022.
